My Parking Problem

In the first PRA blog I touched on my parking warden tasks.  And I would like to thank those who took action and moved their cars.

With the help of the Matamata Community Board and MPDC Councillor Jan Barnes we are working to get some additional ‘parking 60’ or ‘parking 120’ signs around the CBD.

No, we are not going to install parking meters, we are a nice friendly little town, we don’t want to ticket those people who are spending time shopping in our businesses

Tickets just don’t make for happy shoppers.  I can assure you of that when I recently took a punt and didn’t put any money in a ‘play and display’ meter. I came back to find I had a $40 parking ticket.  Totally my own fault.  I can’t blame anyone else for my stupidity, but I threatened myself with never spending any time or money in that town again. Ever!!

The PRA Blog

Most of you are familiar with the term Blog, for those who aren’t; a blog (according to Wikipedia) is a type of website usually maintained by an individual with regular entries or commentary, descriptions of events and other material.

Everyone is doing it, famous or failure, the internet gives you the ability to have your say, to tell it how it really is.

Not to be left behind in today’s technological wonderland, the PRA intends to publish a blog on a monthly basis that will inform you of various events and update you with things that will be happening in town, some of it will be published in The Chronicle. The PRA prides itself on being, shall we say, politically correct; our blogs will be at times ‘not so correct’. If you disagree with what we have to say, we would like to hear from you, simply go to our website and post your blog.  Go on, don’t be shy.  Do it, we want to hear from you.
